 Music

Jazz, punk, rock and pop stream from bars, pubs and stadiums across Melbourne as part of the city’s vivacious live music scene.

Intimate venues in Manchester Lane, Bennetts Lane and Goldie Place specialise in swing, blues, jazz and soul, while hardcore punk and metal is alive on Elizabeth Street and venues like The Arthouse.

Much of Melbourne’s live music is free or inexpensive. At places like Ding Dong Lounge you can even stumble upon ‘secret’ shows by big-name artists.

If not, blockbuster concert events rock the city at Telstra Dome, Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Festival Hall, Rod Laver Arena and the MCG.
