Maybe you have overseas relatives, a friend who’s interstate, or perhaps you’re just like us – simply crazy about this city. Whatever the case, if you’re after a gift that really says ‘Melbourne’, look no further.

Melbournalia, Bourke Street
Melbournalia
What started as a pop-up shop at the Spring Street end of the city in 2011 is now a permanent trove of treasures made or designed in Melbourne. Expect homewares, books, stationery, clothes and apparel, and gifts for children. Among the many Melbourne-themed books is co-owner Dale Campesi’s new guide to the best eateries, boutiques, bars and other hangouts in this city, Melbourne Precincts ($35), pictured above. Melbournalia is at 50 Bourke Street, Melbourne.

The Melbourne Shop By Lumbi
Located in Driver Lane, The Melbourne Shop By Lumbi specialises in Melbourne-made souvenirs, which make perfect Christmas presents for your overseas relatives or patriotic Melburnian auntie. Think tea towels, art, bags, t-shirts, pencil cases, and all manner of Melbourney knick-knacks. They even stock board games – one of our favourites is this very Melbourne version of snakes and ladders, Trams and Hook Turns. It’s educational too, so perfect for that interstate cousin visiting in a rental car!

There are many more places to find unique Christmas gifts in Melbourne. At the Police Museum gift shop, you can pick up a crime scene tea towel or ‘Buff’ the police dog soft toys, Gewurzhaus can cater to all your herb, tea and cooking-related gift needs, and who can go past Koko Black for the chocolate lover in the family? We could go on and on but there really is too many to share. Head over to What’s On for more shopping ideas.
